A Professional Auctioneer In Every Sense Of The Word
American Eagle Auction & Appraisal Company is a full-time and a full-service auction and appraisal company that specializes in converting your personal assets to cash within a short period of time through a competitive auction sale.
With nearly two decades of sole proprietorship in the sales, auction, marketing and event promotions industry, company president and certified real estate and personal property auctioneer and appraiser Kenny Lindsay, CAI delivers a wealth of experience and reputation to the skilled trade of professional auctioneers.
Lindsay graduated at the top of his class at the Continental School of Auctioneering in Mankato, Minnesota with three certifications as a professional auctioneer, real estate auction specialist and personal property appraisal. Lindsay regularly attends conferences, workshops and meetings to keep abreast of current information and developments in the rapidly advancing and changing auction field. Lindsay's commitment to continuing education in delivering the most up-to-date and advanced auction practices, keeps him intellectually sharp and highly competent in the auction industry.

Lindsay has written numerous educational articles on a variety of collecting subjects including investigative reports in the field of autographs, selling trends and has also conducted a one hour lecture and educational seminar on the topic of Collectible Investments.
Lindsay is a recognized expert in the auction industry. He is a monthly compensated columnist for the National Auctioneers Association's Auction World publication. Lindsay was also appointed to write a regular column for the Michigan State Auctioneers Association quarterly publication, The Gavel, along with many other auction-related publications.
Over the course of two decades, Lindsay has organized and promoted 20 successful major trade conventions in addition to exhibiting at approximately 250 sports memorabilia conventions throughout the Midwest since 1985. To add to his versatility in the antiques and collectibles industry, Lindsay has maintained a section at prestigious Knightsbridge Antiques in Northville, Michigan and Town & Country Antiques in Livonia, Michigan. As a professional auctioneer and appraiser, such hands-on experience gained from being directly involved in the business is critical to understanding antiques and collectibles, and how to promote and represent such items at auction.
In 1991, Lindsay's knowledge and leadership skills were recognized publicly when he was featured on an internationally broadcast television program hosted by Detroit's WJR reporter Dennis Neubacher. Lindsay has also been a guest on numerous nationally and locally syndicated radio programs.
With a combination of live, silent and internet auctions, Lindsay has conducted over 2,500 auctions and was nationally recognized in the December 2001 issue of eBay magazine.
Lindsay's auction team was requested to conduct the live auction for the prestigious MBGHA annual banquet in April of 2000 near Detroit, Michigan. After countless hours of a well structured marketing and auction plan, the MBGHA was overwhelmed to report the finest and most successful money making auction in the association's 16 year history! This is just one of the many accolades that Lindsay's company has accomplished.
In recent history, Lindsay has been internationally recognized with being awarded a highly acclaimed auctioneering package through the National Auctioneers Association in addition to receiving international media attention on a strategically advertised auction pertaining to celebrity memorabilia and has been interviewed and/or mentioned by both national and local media agencies including the Detroit News & Free Press, Chicago Sun Times, ESPN, Tampa Tribune, CNN and more.

In March 2008, Lindsay graduated from the highly esteemed CAI (Certified Auctioneers Institute) at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. The CAI designation is the most advanced certification possible and is equivalent to a PhD in the auction industry. Auctioneers with the CAI designation are part of an extraordinary network of exemplary auctioneers in the auction profession. Only approximately 1,100 auctioneers worldwide have achieved this pinnacle designation since the institute was established in 1976.
On the national front, Ken Lindsay received the ultimate honor in being nominated to the Presidential Advisory Committee by National Auctioneers Association President William Sheridan.
In January 2006, Lindsay was appointed to the Michigan State Auctioneers Association newsletter and public relations committee and was later elected to serve on the Michigan State Auctioneers Association Board of Directors. Lindsay was named the Chairman of the Public Promotions Plan where he and his committee developed the largest promotions program in the association's history.
Lindsay's contributions to the following nonprofit fundraising auctions include: Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Rick Larimore Memorial, Michigan Big Game Hunters Association, DeLeon Annual Scholarship Fundraiser, Make-A-Difference (MAD), 4H, Betty Loher Leukemia Fundraiser, Northville Pre-School, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Shriner's Hospital of Michigan, Stepping Stone, American Cancer Society, Habitat for Humanity, Walsh College, Stars Kids, Douglas Kruszewski Memorial, Let the Children Play, The Great Lakes Coca~Cola Collectors Club and several others.
Many auction companies do not offer a customized marketing plan. They limit themselves and their consignors to the traditional one size fits all auction format.
For the most part, their philosophy is you can't teach an old dog new tricks. They rely on their in-house mailing list and an advertisement in a specialized auction alert newspaper to attract bidders. This old school method of promoting an event is far from sophisticated and generally attracts the same professional and stale bidding community.
